Biography: 

John Balthasar Brungardt, son of Francis Balthasar Brungardt & Virginia Burton, was born 10 July 1958 in Salina, Kansas.

He studied theology at Pontifical College Josephinum in Columbus, Ohio. He was ordained a priest on 23 May 1998 in Wichita, Kansas.

Fr. Brungardt was consecrated the sixth Bishop of the Diocese of Dodge City on 2 February 2011.

Fr. Brungardt's Volga German ancestors came from the colony of Herzog.
