Biography: 

David Hamm, son of Jacob Hamm & Anna Klaassen, was born 4 October 1822 in Ladekop, at the time located in West Prussia.

He and his family immigrated to Russia in 1853 and settled in the Volga German Mennonite colony of Hahnsau. He served as elder of the congregation there from 1858 until his death in 1884.
