Howard Glen Hein, son of Harry Hein & Genevieve Mohr, was born 3 February 1931 in Lodi, California.
Mr. Hein was the founder and president of the distinguished Randolph & Hein label of fine furniture, textiles, and decorative accessories. Mr. Hein joined with Randolph Arczynski to form San Francisco-based Randolph & Hein, Inc. Hein and Arczynski's initial two-person refinishing and restoration business, established in San Francisco in 1971, quickly expanded to include furniture and textile collections, and a national network of showrooms and select furnishings resourced by leading designers and architects. Their unique taste has had a significant impact upon the world of design and decoration, and has made the company a respected name in the international design community. Flagship Randolph & Hein showrooms are located in Los Angeles, New York and San Francisco.
Mr. Hein died in Los Angeles on 23 February 2001.
Mr. Hein's Volga German ancestry is traced back to the colony of Huck.
