Biography: 

Pastor Gustav Ferdinand Otto was born 17 July 1813 in Beideck. He is the son of Pastor Johann Martin Otto & Anna Katharina Filbert. He began his education in Sarepta and studied in Reval (1829-1834). He studied theology at the University of Dorpat from 1835 to 1842 and was ordained in Katharinenstadt.

He served parishes in Kursk (1844-1852), Tver (1852-1858), and Tula-Kaluga (1858-1872).

He married on 8 July 1842 in Reval to Karolina Elisabeth Korb [born 11 November 1818 in Reval; died 15 September 1859 in Tula]. He remarried on 8 June 1865 in St. Petersburg to Maria Elisabeth Nielsen [born 9 June 1836 in St. Petersburg; died 7 June 1901 in St. Petersburg].

Pastor Otto died 25 December 1877 in St. Petersburg.
