Reichert, Johannes

The Rev. Johannes Reichert, son of Johannes Reichert & Katharina Elisabeth Wiederhold, was born 30 April 1855 in the Volga German colony of Walter.

He married Anna Maria Geist, daughter of Nikolaus Geist & Katharina Elisabeth Mohrlang, on 25 August 1875 in Hussenbach. They immigrated to the United States aboard the S.S. Suevia, arriving in New York City on 4 January 1892.

Rev. Reichert received his first call to the German Baptist church at Culbertson, Nebraska. He served as a pastor to many German Baptist churches including: Bailiville, Illinois; Kulm, North Dakota; Winona, Minnesota; George, Iowa; Tyndall, South Dakota; and Venturia, North Dakota. He returned to Tyndall where he retired.

Rev. Reichert died 27 December 1937 at his home in Tyndall, South Dakota. He is buried in the Tyndall Cemetery.
