Biography: 

William Ruhl, son of Philip Ruhl & Maria Elisabeth Zierkiebel, was born 25 October 1901 in Colfax, Washington. He died 12 March 1956 in Hollywood, California.

William Ruhl was a character actor in the 1930s, 1940s, and 1950s. He appeared in more than 150 films and television shows including 125 feature films. His first appearance was as a shopper in the 1934 film The Man Who Reclaimed His Head. Ruhl would also make appearances on several television shows including The Lone Ranger, Hopalong Cassidy, and The Adventures of Wild Bill Hickok. His final appearance was in 1953 in the film Above and Beyond which starred Robert Taylor & Eleanor Parker.

Ruhl's Volga German ancestors came from the colony of Yagodnaya Polyana.
