History
Neu-Straub was a khutor (farmstead) located on the right bank of the Tarlyk River. This khutor had a variety of names during its existence: Straub, Friedental, and Friedenfeld show up on various maps. Following the 1941 Deportation, it was given the name of Tarlyk.
What remains today of the former Volga German settlement of Neu-Straub is called Tarlyk.
Church
The original settlers who relocated to Neu-Straub were Lutheran.
