History:
Neu-Zürich was founded in 1872 on the right bank of the Bolshoi Kushum River when Lutheran farmers from Zürich rented land there. This colony should not be confused with the Neu-Zürich that was located on the Mius River.
Church:
The congregation in Neu-Zürich was served by the Lutheran pastor from the colony of Gnadenflur.
