History: 

Volga German families settled in and around Sandusky, Michigan. Most came there originally to work in the sugar beet industry.

Volga German Congregations: 

Many Volga German families attended St. Paul Lutheran Church located on Custer Road just west of Banner Road. It had been built in 1894. St. Paul later merged in 1951 with St. James Lutheran Church in Elmer township to create Peace Lutheran in Sandusky.
