Konrad Bischof, son of Johann Wilhelm Bischof & Anna Catharina Machlaid, was born 15 May 1721 in Zwingenberg and baptized there on 18 May 1721.
Konrad Bischof married in Zwingenberg on 7 April 1745 to Elisabetha Catharina Demler, daughter of Johann Wendel Demler & Anna Catharina Hechler of Ober-Beerbach. She had been born 24 March 1718 in Ober-Beerbach.
Konrad Bischoff, a farmer, his wife Anna [sic], and son Philipp (age 12) arrived from Lübeck at the port of Oranienbaum on 2 August 1766 aboard an English frigate named Love & Unity under the command of Skipper Thomas Fairfax. The Zwingenberg Mannschaftsregister does not include this 12-year-old son.
Conrad Bischoff and his wife Elisabetha are recorded on the list of colonists being transported from St. Petersburg to Saratov in 1767.
Konrad Bischoff, a farmer, and his wife Anna [sic] are recorded on an appendix to the 1767 census of Paulskaya in Household No. 5 along with orphan Heinrich Weiner [Werner] (age 17). The 1767 census does not record a relationship between the Bischoff and Werner families. [See Werner Family.]
Descendants of this Bischoff family do not appear on the 1798 census in any colony.
The Oranienbaum passenger list records that Konrad Bischoff came from the German region of Darmstadt.
There are no known surviving male lines of this family among the Volga German colonies.
