Gottfried Maaser, son of Johann Nicolaus Maser & Anna Maria Trinkaus, was born on 23 November 1742 in Lengfeld, today part of the village of Otzberg, east of Darmstadt. He married Anna Eva Lutz who had also been born in Lengfeld on 20 January 1742.
Gottfried Maser, a farmer, and his wife Anna arrived from Lübeck at the port of Oranienbaum on 22 July 1766 aboard a barque named Der Junge Mattias (The Young Mattias) under the command of Skipper Johann Gottfried Selander.
Gottfried Maser, a farmer, his wife Eva, and son Konrad (age 1) are recorded on the 1767 census of Kukkus in Household No. 24. They had arrived in Kukkus on 26 June 1767.
Gottfried Maser and his family are recorded on the 1798 census of Kukkus in Household No. Kk40.
The death of Gottfried Maser in 1821 is recorded on the 1834 census of Kukkus in Household No. 64.
The Oranienbaum passenger list records that Gottfried Maser came from the German region of Pfalz. The 1767 census records that Gottfried Maser came from the German village of Lengfeld in the Kurpfalz region.
