Johann Georg Orth was born in Lützelbach on 11 February 1745 to Johann Leonhard Orth & Maria Elisabeth Saul. Shortly after his birth, his father (a master cobbler) moved the family to Breitenbrunn where the remainder of Johann Georg's siblings were born.

Johann Georg Orth is recorded on the list of colonists being transported from St. Petersburg to Saratov in 1767.

He arrived in Frank on 1 September 1767 and is listed there on the 1767 census in Household No. 94.
