Discussion & Documentation

Andreas Reiter, son of Johann Michael Reiter from Hildburghausen & Katharina Weibrecht from Gersfeld, was born on 23 December 1736 in Gersfeld, then part of the Free Noble Province of Ancient Knights.

Andreas Reuter, a farmer, and his wife Maria arrived from Lübeck at the port of Oranienbaum on 20 August 1766 aboard a galliot named Catharina Eleonora under the command of Skipper Peter Rehder.

Andreas Reuter, a craftsman (Handwerker), and his wife Anna Maria are recorded on the 1767 census of Frank in Household No. 115. They had arrived in Frank on 1 September 1767.

Katharina Wiebrecht was the daughter of Johann Adam Wiebrecht and Barbara Fischer. The Fischer line in Gersfeld has been traced back to Lukas Fischer (born 25 November 1622) and Katharina Schubert.

Anna Maria Reinick, daughter of Johannes Reinick & Margaretha Guttmann, was born in Gersfeld on 23 November 1739.

The Oranienbaum passenger list records that Andreas Reuter came from the German village of Gersfeld. The 1767 census records that he came from the German village of Gersfeld in the Freie Adelprovinz der alten Ritter [Free Nobel Province of Ancient Knights].
