Johannes Weidemann, son of Andreas Weidemann & Anna Barbara Föller, was born 18 September 1734 in Ilbeshausen. [His lineage can be traced to Conrad Weydemann, born about 1640, of Audra, Eichsfeld, Germany.]
Johann Weidemann, a weaver, his wife Margaretha, and daughter Anna Margaretha (age 5) arrived from Lübeck at the port of Oranienbaum on 18 August 1766 aboard the galliot named St. Johannes (Saint John) under the command of Skipper Carstens Stahl.
They are recorded on the 1767 census of Frank in Household No. 64.
The Oranienbaum passenger list records that Johann Weidemann came from the German region of Darmstadt.
