Discussion & Documentation

Heinrich Müller, a miller, and his wife Klara arrived from Lübeck at the port of Oranienbaum on 19 July 1766 aboard the snow-brig named Maria Sophia under the command of Skipper Johann Bauert.

Johann Heinrich Müller and his wife Anna Clara are recorded on the list of colonists being transported from St. Petersburg to Saratov in 1767.

He and his family settled in the Volga German colony of Warenburg on 12 May 1767. Heinrich Müller, a miller (Müller), his wife Anna Klara, and son Johann Konrad (age 3-weeks) are recorded on the 1767 census of Warenburg in Household No. 86.

The Oranienbaum passenger list records that Heinrich Müller came from the German region of Darmstadt. The 1767 census records that Heinrich Müller came from the German village of Tra [?] in the Darmstadt region. According to Vera Belyakova Miller, Heinrich Müller came from the village of Traisa, southeast of Darmstadt.
