The baptisms of nine children born to Johann Christoph Schmidt & Susanna Maria Blechschmidt are recorded in the parish register of Sprendlingen: (1) Anna Margarethe, born 14 October 1749; (2) Johann Jakob, born 21 December 1751, died 10 March 1752; (3) Maria Elisabetha, born 24 December 1752; (4) Anna Maria, born 2 July 1755, died 17 December 1759; (5) Elisabetha, born 3 March 1758; (6) Anna Maria, born 18 January 1760, died 20 October 1761; (7) Anna Maria, born 8 December 1761; (8) Susanna Maria, born 7 September 1763; and (9) Johann Georg, born 9 August 1765.

Christoph Schmidt, a farmer, his wife Susanna, and children (Anna Margaretha, age 18; Maria Elisabeth, age 16; Katharina Elisabeth, age 12; Anna Maria, age 8; Susanna, age 4; Johann Georg, age 2) arrived from Lübeck at the port of Oranienbaum on 13 September 1766 aboard the hooker Die Jungfer Dietrika under the command of Skipper Christian Korsholm.
