Peter Bäcker and his family immigrated to Russia from the German village of Salmünster.
Peter Bäcker, a farmer, his wife Katharina, and children (Joseph, age 22; Michael, age 19; Heinrich, age 17½; Johannes, age 11) arrived from Lübeck at the port of Oranienbaum on 19 July 1766 aboard a barque named Fortitudo (Fortitude) under the command of Skipper John Scott.
They settled in the Volga German colony of Krasnoyar on 20 July 1767 where they are recorded on the 1767 Census in Household No. 45.
This Bäcker family doesn't seem to be related to the other one that settled in Krasnoyar.
The Oranienbaum passenger list records that Peter Becker came from the German region of Fulda.
There are no known surviving male lines of this Becker family among the Volga German colonies.
