Discussion & Documentation

Johann Georg Karg, his wife Anna Maria and children Johann Nicolaus, and Maria Elisabeth, are believed to be from Rimhorn, near Höchst im Odenwald. The Karg surname is common in Rimhorn, but no matching family could be found in the Rimhorn church records.

The Karg family settled in the Volga German colony of Frank in 1767. They are recorded there on the 1767 census in Household No. 17.
