Discussion & Documentation

Michael Alexander was born in approximately 1792, probably in France.  He served in Napoleon's army and fought against the Russians.  He was captured by the Russians, and in 1812, was settled in the Volga German colony of Norka.

He is recorded on the 1834 Census of Norka in Household No. 119, married to Anna Maria Lorei, daughter of the deceased Johannes Lorei.

Michael Alexander does not appear on the 1857 Census of Norka, although his descendants do, so he must have died before 1850.
