Ludwig Georg & Anna Margaretha Michel came from the German village of Oberreichenbach. The baptisms of three of their children are recorded in the parish records of neighboring Unterreichenbach: (1) Anna Elisabeth on 14 April 1754; (2) Johann Adam on 21 January 1757; and (3) Anna Eva on 2 March 1760.
Ludwig Michel, a farmer, his wife Anna, and children (Anna, age 13; Johann, age 10; Eva, age 7) arrived from Lübeck at the port of Oranienbaum on 19 July 1766 aboard the snow-brig named Christina under the command of Skipper Jacob Stappenberg.
Ludwig Georg Michel, a farmer, his wife Anna Margaretha, and children (Johann Adam, age 10½; Eva, age 7) are recorded on the 1767 census of Huck in Household No. 55. They had settled there on 1 July 1767.
They have another son, Johann Georg, who in 1789 moved from Huck to Norka.
Both the Oranienbaum passenger list and the 1767 census record that Ludwig Michel came from the German region of Isenburg.
