Discussion & Documentation

Konrad Schneider, a farmer from the district of Isenburg, and his wife Margaretha settled in the Volga German colony of Huck on 1 July 1767. They are recorded there on the 1767 census in Household No. 22 and on the 1798 census in Household No. Hk37.

There are two Konrad Schneiders who arrived from Lübeck at the port of Oranienbaum on 19 July 1766 aboard a snow-brig named Christina under the command of Skipper Jacob Stappenberg along with many other families that settled in Huck. They are recorded on the Oranienbaum passenger list under documents #3212 & #3225.

The Oranienbaum passenger list records that both of these Konrad Schneiders came from the German region of Isenburg.
