Georg Bengler and his family immigrated to Russia, arriving from Lübeck at the port in Oranienbaum on 18 Jun 1766 aboard the ship Mann & Frau under the command of skipper Daniel Berg.
They settled in the Volga German colony of Preuss on 16 August 1767. Georg died in Preuss on 13 October 1767.
Widow Maria Magdalena Bengler and children (Maria Katharina, age 15; Stephan Peter, age 8) are recorded on the 1767 census of Preuss in Household No. 130.
The 1767 census records that widow Maria Magdalena Bengler came from the German village of Laudenbach an der Bergstraße.
