Dinges (Moor / Norka)

The baptisms of the children of Heinrich Tönges [sic] and Anna Margaretha Rähn [sic] are recorded in the parish register of Niedergründau: (1) Johannes, born 9 October 1735; (2) Johann Heinrich, born 30 March 1744; and (3) Johann Georg, born 12 June 1747, baptized 16 June 1747.

The baptism of the mother Anna Margaretha Rühn [sic], daughter of Johann Conrad Rühn, is recorded on the parish register of Niedermittlau on 10 April 1707.

(1) Johann[es] Tönges [sic], his mother Anna Margaretha, and brother Johann Georg (age 20) [see "c" below] arrived from Lübeck at the port of Oranienbaum on 8 August 1766 aboard the pink Cargo under the command of Lieutenant Moses Davydov.

Johannes Dinges, a craftsman (Handwerker) from the district of Isenburg, and his family settled in the Volga German colony of Norka on 15 August 1767. They are recorded there on the 1767 census in Household No. 164.

Johannes Dinges, his wife Louisa, and son Ernst Heinrich (age 8) are recorded on the 1775 census of Norka in Household No 172.

Johannes Dinges and his family are recorded on the 1798 census of Norka in Household No. Nr181.

The death of Johannes Dinges in 1804 is recorded on the 1811 census of Norka in Household No. 182.

[Ernst] Heinrich Dinges, son of Johannes Dinges, and his family are recorded on the 1834 census of Norka in Household No. 284 along with a note that he had died in 1831.

Both the Oranienbaum passenger list and the 1767 census recor that Johannes Dinges is a craftsman (Handwerker) from the German region of Isenburg.

(2) Johann Heinrich Dinges, married in Hirzenhain on 30 January 1766 to Maria Elisabeth Scharch, daughter of Johann Georg Scharch. She had been born on 30 June 1745 in Hirzenhain.

Heinrich Dinges and his wife Maria arrived from Lübeck at the port of Oranienbaum on 4 July 1766 aboard the English frigate Love & Unity under the command of Skipper Thomas Fairfax.

Heinrich Dinges, a craftsman (Handwerker), and his wife Elisabeth are recorded on the 1767 census of Moor in Household No. 60. They had settled in Moor on 18 June 1767.

Heinrich Dinges and his family are recorded on the 1798 census of Moor in Household No. Mo02.

Nikolaus Dinges, son of Heinrich Dinges, and his family are recorded on the 1834 census of Moor along with a note that his son Johann Adam relocated to the colony of Kukkus.

Adam Dinges, son of Nikolaus Dinges, from Moor and his family are recorded on the 1834 census of Kukkus in Household No. 43.

The Oranienbaum passenger list records that Heinrich Dinges is a tailor while the 1767 census records that he is a craftsman (Handwerker). Both documents record that Heinrich Dinges came from the German district of Isenburg.

(3) Johann Georg Tönges [sic], arrived from Lübeck at the port of Oranienbaum on 8 August 1766 aboard the pink Cargo under the command of Lieutenant Moses Davydov along with his mother Anna Margaretha, and brother Johann [see "a" above].

Johann Georg Tenius [sic], a single farmer, and his mother Eva [sic] Margaretha settled in the Volga German colony of Moor on 18 June 1767. They are recorded there on the 1767 census in Household No. 64.

Georg [sic] Dinges and his family are recorded on the 1798 census of Norka in Household No. Nr101.

The death of Heinrich [should be Georg] Dinges in 1802 is recorded on the 1811 census of Norka in Household No. 101.

Ernest Heinrich Dinges, son of Georg Dinges, is recorded on the 1811 census of Norka in Household No. 101 along with a note that he relocated to the colony of Bangert in 1811 [sic].

Ernest Heinrich Dinges is recorded on the 1811 census of Bangert in Household No. 28 along with a note that he had arrived in Bangert from Norka in 1810 [sic].

Ernest Heinrich Dinges and his family are recorded on the 1834 census of Bangert in Household No. 32.

Both the Oranienbaum passenger list and the 1767 census record that Johann Georg Tenius [sic] came from the German district of Isenburg.
