Thomä (Keller)*

Two Thomä families arrived in the Volga German colony of Keller on 22 May 1767. Their relationship to each other, if any, needs additional research.

(1) Georg Thomä, a single farmer, arrived from Lübeck via Reval [Estonia] at the port of Oranienbaum on 24 May 1766 aboard a pinque named Лапоминк (Lapomink - a Russian river) under the command of Lieutenant Dmitry Krykov.

Heinrich Thomä, a farmer, and his wife Maria Eva, are recorded on the 1767 census of Keller in Household No. 52.

Heinrich Thomä does not appear to have had any surviving male descendants.  

(2) Johann Thomä, a farmer, his wife Anna, and children (Johann [Konrad], age 4; Anna, age 8-weeks) arrived from Lübeck via Reval [Estonia] at the port of Oranienbaum on 24 May 1766 aboard a pinque named Лапоминк (Lapomink - a Russian river) under the command of Lieutenant Dmitry Krykov.

Konrad Thomä (age 5) and his widowed mother, Rosina - who had remarried Johann Georg Mühlhaus - are recorded on the 1767 census of Keller in Household No. 54.

Following the destruction of the colony of Keller, Konrad Thomä and his mother resettled in the colony of Neu-Kolonie.

Konrad's widow [having remarried and been widowed again] is recorded in Neu-Kolonie on the 1798 census in Household No. Nk42 along with her former mother-in-law, Rosina Mühlhaus.

Konrad Thomä also does not appear to have had any surviving male descendants.

The Oranienbaum passenger list records that Johann Thomä came from the German region of Mainz. The 1767 census records that Heinrich Thomas came from the German village of Gauersheim in the Kurpfalz.
