Paul Busch and his family arrived from Lübeck at the port of Oranienbaum on 8 August 1766 aboard a ship under the command of Skipper Siebe Heinrichson.

They settled in the Volga German colony of Dehler on 26 July 1767 and are recorded there on the 1767 census in Household No. 22.

Paulus Busch and his family are recorded on the 1798 census of Dehler in Household No. Dl36.

Paulus Busch and his son Johann Peter are recorded on the 1811 census of Dehler in Household No. 34 along with a note that they relocated to the colony of Preuss in 1800.

Paulus Busch and his son Peter are recorded on the 1811 census of Preuss in Household No. 94 along with a note that they had arrived in Preuss fro Dehler in 1800.

The Oranienbaum passenger list records that Paul Busch was a farmer while the 1767 census records that he was a blacksmith (Schmied).

The 1767 census records that Paul Busch came from the German village of Bommersheim in the Kurmainz.

There are no known surviving male lines of this Busch family among the Volga German colonies.
