The marriage on 12 January 1755 of Nikolaus Maÿbach of Wernborn, son of the deceased Mathias Maÿbach, to Anna Maria Schuster of Weissborn [?], daughter of Georg Wilhelm Schuster, is recorded in the parish register of St. Georg Catholic Church in Pfaffenwiesbach.
The parish register of St. Georg Catholic Church in Pfaffenwiesbach records the baptisms of the following children born to Nikolaus Maÿbach & Anna Maria Schuster: (1) Maria Elisabetha, baptized 7 October 1755; (2) Maria Magdalena, baptized 13 August 1758; (3) Anna Maria, baptized 12 June 1762; and (4) Johannes Adam, baptized 12 December 1765.
Nikolaus Maibach, a tailor (Schneider), his wife Anna, and children (Elisabeth, age 12; Magdalena, age 9; Anna, age 5¼; Adam, age ½) arrived from Lübeck at the port of Oranienbaum on 9 June 1766 aboard the ship Mann und Frau (Husband & Wife) under the command of Skipper Daniel Berg.
Niclas Meybach [sic] is recorded on a list of colonists being transported from St. Petersburg to Saratov in 1767.
Nikolaus Maibach, his [new] wife Maria Magdalena (age 28), and his daughters by his first wife (Elisabeth, age 12; Maria Magdalena, age 9) settled in the Volga German colony of Preuss on 12 May 1767. They are recorded there on the 1767 census in Household No. 42.
Katharina Maibach, presumed widow of Nikolaus Maibach, is recorded on the 1798 census of Preuss in Household No. Ps54.
[Maria] Magdalena Beck née Maibach from Preuss and her family are recorded on the 1798 census of Dehler in Household No. Dl13.
In 1788, Sebastian Maibach, presumed son of Nikolaus Maibach, moved from Preuss to Dehler.
Sebastian Maibach and his family are recorded on the 1798 census of Hildmann in Household No. Hd06.
Descendants of Sebastian Maibach are recorded on the 1834 census of Dehler in Households No. 55 & 94.
In 1797, Johannes Maibach, presumed son of Nikolaus Maibach, moved from Preuss to Dehler.
Johannes Maibach from Preuss is recorded on the 1798 census of Dehler in Household No. Dl21.
Katharina Elisabeth Riker née Maibach, presumed daughter of Nikolaus Maibach, and her family are recorded on the 1798 census of Preuss in Household No. Ps51.
The Oranienbaum passenger list records that Nikolaus Maibach came from the German region of Bassenheim. The 1767 census records that Nikolaus Maibach came from the German village of Pfaffenwiesbach in the Kurmainz.
