The parish register of Saints Peter & Paul Catholic Church in Camberg records the baptisms of the following children born to Johannes Wilhelm Schneider, a miller from nearby Erbach, and his wife Julianna: (1) Maria Elisabetha, born 12 May 1761; (2) Joseph, born 23 June 1762; (3) Johannes, born 8 September 1763; (4) Katharina, born 8 October 1764; and (5) Philipp Jakob, born 16 March 1766.
Wilhelm Schneider, a miller (Müller), his wife Julianna, and children (Maria, age 7; Heinrich, age 5¼; Johann, age 4; Katharina, age 2¼; Philipp, age ½) arrived from Lübeck at the port of Oranienbaum on 11 June 1766 aboard a ship named Der Junge Heinrich (The Young Henry) under the command of Skipper Heinrich Niemann.
Wilhelm Schneider is recorded on a list of colonists being transported from St. Petersburg to Saratov in 1767.
They arrived in the Volga German colony of Preuss on 15 July 1767 and are recorded there on the 1767 census in Household No. 123.
The Oranienbaum passenger list records that Wilhelm Schneider came from the German region of Nassau. The 1767 census records that Wilhelm Schneider came from the German village of Camberg in the Kurtrier region.
