Johann Peter Resch, his wife Katharina, and son Mattias (age 8) settled in the Volga German colony of Preuss on 16 August 1767 and are recorded there on the 1767 census in Household No. 122.
The 1767 census records that Johann Peter Resch came from the German village of Montabaur in the Kurtrier region.
