Georg Grell, a farmer, and his wife Anna Katharina settled in the Volga German colony of Norka on 15 August 1767. They are recorded there on the 1767 census in Household No. 139.
The 1767 census records that Georg Grell came from the German district of Hessen.
There are no known surviving male lines of this family among the Volga German colonies.
