Jakob Hohmann, a farmer, and his wife Anna Katharina arrived from Lübeck at the port of Oranienbaum on 19 July 1766 aboard a pinque named Slon (Elephant) under the command of Lieutenant Sergey Panov.
Jakob Hohmann, a craftsman (Handwerker), and his wife Anna Katharina are recorded on the 1767 census of Norka in Household No. 140 along with the single Johannes Blum (age 23). [See Blum Family.] They had arrived in Norka on 15 August 1767.
Both the Oranienbaum passenger list and the 1767 census record that Jakob Homann came from the German region of Hessen.
There are no known surviving male lines of this Hohmann family among the Volga German colonies.
