Adam Mainz, a tanner (Gerber), and his wife Christina arrived from Lübeck at the port of Oranienbaum on 12 September 1766.
Adam Meintz and his wife Christina are recorded on the list of colonists being transported from St. Petersburg to Saratov in 1767 along with a note that wife Christina died en route.
Adam remarried Katharina, the widow of Karl Kunzelmann. They settled in the Volga German colony of Leitsinger on 19 August 1767 and are recorded there on the 1767 census in Household No. 44 along with the surviving Kunzelmann children.
The 1767 census records that Adam Mainz came from the German village of Fladungen in the district of Würzburg.
There are no known surviving male lines of this family among the Volga German colonies.
