Genze (Rosenheim)
Burkhard Genze [not Geist], a farmer, and his family settled in the Volga German colony of Rosenheim on 15 March 1766. They are recorded there on the 1767 census in Household No. 54.
Peter Gentz [sic], presumed son of Burkhard Genze, and his family (including son Christian, age 21) are recorded on the 1798 census of Rosenheim in Household No. Rm51.
Christian Genze and his family are recorded on the 1834 census of Rosenheim in Household No. 63.
The death of Christian Genze in 1843 is recorded on the 1850 census of Rosenheim in Household No. 98. The deaths of both of his sons is also recorded on the 1850 census of Rosenheim.
The grandchildren of Christian Genze are recorded on the 1857 census of Rosenheim in Household No. 108.
The 1767 census records that Burkhard Genze came from the German village of Kirnbach in the Duchy of Württemberg.
