Discussion & Documentation

Johann Plümerdorf, a farmer, and his family arrived from Lübeck at the port of Oranienbaum on 20 May 1766 aboard the Russian galliot Catharina Eleonora under the command of Skipper Peter Röder.

The surviving children (Johann, age 16, and Elisabeth, age 14) settled in the Volga German colony of Kolb on 13 May 1767 and are recorded there on the 1767 census in Household No. 17 along with the Johannes Thiel family. The 1767 census does not record a relationship between the Thiel and Plümerdorf families.

Both the Oranienbaum passenger list and the 1767 census record that the Plümerdorf family came from the German region of Regensburg.

There are no known surviving male lines of this family among the Volga German colonies.
