Burghard Brandt, a farmer, his wife Barbara, and daughters (Maria, age 9; Katharina, age 6; Ursula, age 2½) arrived from Lüsbeck at the port of Oranienbaum on 7 May 1766 aboard the galliot named Anna Katharina under the command of Skipper Daniel Heyer.
They settled in the Volga German colony of Ober-Monjou on 5 March 1767 and are recorded there on the 1767 census in Household No. 3.
The Oranienbaum passenger list records that Burghard Brandt came from the German region of Würzburg. The 1767 census records that Burghard Brandt came from the German village of Netlangen in the region of Würzburg.
There are no known surviving male lines of this Brandt family among the Volga German colonies.
