Discussion & Documentation

Johann Michael Wittmaier, a farmer, his wife Dorothea, and their son Johann Jakob arrived from Lübeck at the port of Oranienbaum on 4 July 1766 aboard the ship Die Neue Freiheit von Bremen under the command of Skipper Steingrawer.

They have not been located on the 1767 census, but according to the 1798 census Jakob Wittmaier left Frank in 1784. Where he went is not recorded.

The Oranienbaum passenger list records that Johann Michael Wittmaier came from the German region of Württemberg.
