Christian Grunenwald [sic] from Giederheim [sic] in the area of Maynz & Elisabetha Schuh from Oberwiessenbach were married on 12 May 1766 in the City Lutheran Church of Friedberg.
Christian Grünewald, a farmer, and his family arrived from Lübeck at the port of Oranienbaum on 8 August 1766 aboard a ship under the command of Skipper Heidemann.
They settled in the Volga German colony of Dehler on 26 June 1767. Christian Grünewald died. His surviving daughter Anna Margaretha is recorded in Dehler on the 1767 census in Household No. 55.
The 1767 census records that Anna Margaretha Grünewald came from the German village of Dietersheim in the Kurmainz region.
There are no known surviving male lines of this Grünewald family among the Volga German colonies.
