Bartholomäus Ebers, a farmer, his wife Anna, and his sister Maria arrived from Lübeck at the port of Oranienbaum on 18 June 1766 aboard the hooker Anna Catharina under the Skipper Adolph Scharpenberg.
They settled in the Volga German colony of Keller on 12 May 1767. Bartel and his [new] wife Katharina are recorded there on the 1767 census in Household No. 22.
Their children (Johannes, age 21; Daniel, age 20; Jakob, age 18; Eva Maria, age 15; Anton, age 12) are believed to be recorded on the 1798 census of Schönchen in Household No. Sn35.
The Oranienbaum passenger list records that Bartholomeus Ebers came from the German region of Bassenheim. The 1767 census records that Bartel Ebers came from the German village of Kottenheim near Bassenheim.
