Bartholomäus Ebers, a farmer, his wife Anna, and his sister Maria arrived from Lübeck at the port of Oranienbaum on 18 June 1766 aboard the hooker Anna Catharina under the Skipper Adolph Scharpenberg.
They settled in the Volga German colony of Keller on 12 May 1767. Bartel and his new wife Katharina are recorded there on the 1767 census in Household No. 22.
The 1767 census records that Bartel Ebers came from the German village of Kottenheim near Bassenheim.
