Augustin Fischer married Maria Elisabetha Schumänn.
The births of the following children born (in Schmitten) to Augustin Fischer & Maria Elisabetha Schumänn are recorded in the parish register of Seelenberg: (1) Melchior, born 23 July 1754, died 7 October 1756; (2) Eva Katharina, born 25 June 1757, died 8 December 1757; and (3) Maria Margaretha, born 1 July 1760, died 30 May 1761.
Johannes Nikolaus Fischer, another son of Augustin Fischer & Maria Elisabetha Schumänn, married on 9 January 1766 in Ockstadt to Elisabetha Richelhof, daughter of Philipp & Anna Justina Riegelhof. [See Riegelhof Family.]
August Fischer, a farmer, his wife Maria, and children ([a] Nikolaus & his wife Elisabeth; [b] Johann, age 20; [c] Kaspar, age 18) arrived from Lübeck at the port of Oranienbaum on 9 June 1766 aboard the 2-masted merchant ship named Anna Katharina under the command of Skipper Adolph Scharpenberg.
Maria Elisabeth Fischer née Schumänn is presumed to have died, because Barbara Fischer [presumed widow of August Fischer] (age 43) is recorded on the 1767 census of Keller in Household No. 70 along with a note that her husband had died on 29 September 1767. She had arrived in Keller on 12 May 1767.
[a] Nikolaus Fischer (age 26), a blacksmith (Schmied), his wife Elisabeth (age 29), son Johann Heinrich (age 1), and brother Kaspar (age 18) are recorded on the 1767 census of Keller in Household No. 16. They had arrived in Keller on 12 May 1767.
[b] Johann Heinrich Fischer (age 21), a farmer, and his [new] wife Maria Katharina [Kloster] (age 18) are recorded on the 1767 census of Keller in Household No. 56. They had arrived in Keller on 11 August 1767.
[c] Kaspar Fischer is recorded on the 1767 census of Keller in Household No. 16 along with his brother Nikolaus. They had arrived in Keller on 12 May 1767.
The Oranienbaum passenger list records that August Fischer family came from the German region of Bassenheim. The 1767 census records that Nikolaus and Johann Heinrich Fischer came from the German village of Hattstein [near Schmitten] in the "county" of Bassenheim and that Widow Barbara Fischer came from the German village of Reifenberg [which is near Schmitten].
There are no known surviving male lines of this Fischer family among the Volga German colonies.
