Discussion & Documentation

Johannes Lich, a farmer, and his family settled in the Volga German colony of Louis on 14 June 1766. They are recorded there on the 1767 census in Household No. 1.

The 1767 census records that Johannes Lich came from the German village of Saagemünd. His daughter's 1767 census entry (Household No.22) further records that Saagemünd is in the region of Lothringen.
