Bartholomè Mons [sic] & Helena Völcker were married on 11 March 1766 in the Lutheran Church of Büdingen.
Bartholomaeus Manz, a farmer, and his wife Helena arrived from Lübeck at the port of Oranienbaum on 19 July 1766 aboard the snow-brig named Christina under the command of Skipper Jacob Stappenberg.
They settled in the Volga German colony of Köhler on 10 August 1767 and are recorded there on the 1767 census in Household No. 18 along with the orphaned Simon Siefert (age 12), son of the deceased Jakob Siefert. The 1767 census does not record a relationship between the Manz and Siefert families.
The Oranienbaum passenger list records that Bartholomaeus Manz came from Luxembourg while the 1767 census records that he came from the German region of Fulda.
