Widower Konrad Gerlotz, a farmer, and his children (Johann, age 15; Elisabeth, age 12½; Marta, age 6) arrived from Lübeck at the port of Oranienbaum on 11 June 1766 aboard the ship named Der Junge Heinrich under the command of Skipper Heinrich Niemann.
They settled in the Volga German colony of Straub on 12 July 1767 and are recorded there on the 1767 census in Household No. 37.
The 1767 census records that Konrad Gerlotz came from the German village of Roth in the Nassau-Usingen region.
