Michael Stephan Seelmann, son of the deceased Pankratius Seelmann and his wife Margaretha, married on 22 September 1760 in Pettstadt to Christina Kammer, daughter of Georg & Anna Kammer of Hirschaid.
The parish register of Mariä Geburt (Nativity of Mary) Catholic Church in Pettstadt records the baptisms of the following children born to Michael Stephan Seelmann & Christina Kammer: (1) Andreas, baptized 7 September 1761; (2) Johannes Joseph Kaspar, baptized 10 February 1763, died 5 March 1763; and (3) Anna Dorothea, baptized 9 February 1764.
Stephan Seelmann, a weaver (Weber), his wife Christina, and children (Andreas, age 5¼; Dorothea, age 3) arrived from Lübeck at the port of Oranienbaum on 16 August 1766 aboard a galliot named Die Wachsamkeit (Vigilance) under the command of Skipper Jacob Heinrich Sager along with his sister-in-law Anna [surname not recorded] (age 18).
Stephan Seelmann, his wife Christina, and sister-in-law Anna Arnold are recorded on the list of colonists being transported from St. Petersburg to Saratov in 1767.
Stephan Seelmann and his wife Christina are recorded on the 1767 census of Hölzel in Household No. 44. They had arrived in Hölzel on 11 September 1767.
The 1767 census records that Stephan Seelmann came from the German village of Neustadt in the Bamberg region.
There are no known surviving male lines of this Seelmann family among the Volga German colonies.
