Peter Weber, a single farmer, settled in the Volga German colony of Mariental on 16 June 1766. He is recorded there on the 1767 census in Household No. 28 along with his new wife Maria Gertrude who came from the German village of Geseke near Köln.

The 1767 census records that Peter Weber came from the German region of Hessen-Kassel.
