Johann Heinrich Frei (age 15) and Eva Margaretha Frei (age 9) settled in the Volga German colony of Schulz on 8 September 1766 along with their mother Anna Sophia who was married to Andreas Müller. They are recorded there on the 1767 census in Household No. 3.
