There are two Hein families that settled in the Volga German colony of Louis on 14 June 1766. The 1767 census records that both of them came from the German village of Busendorf in the Lothringen region. Their relationship to one another is not recorded.
(1) Nikolaus Hein, a farmer, his wife, and his daughter are recorded there on the 1767 census in Household No. 3.
(2) Michael Hein, a farmer, and his bride Barbara are recorded there on the 1767 census in Household No. 18. In 1795, Sebastian Hein was killed in Louis.
