Ludwig Fiedler was born in approximately 1789 the village of Ensisheim in France. He was a tailor.
He served as a soldier in the 3rd Infantry Regiment of Napoleon's Army. He fought against the Russians and was captured.
Milovidov records that as of 1814 his father, mother, and two sisters were still living in Ensisheim.
He was settled in the Volga German colony of Katharinenstadt and was assigned to the household of Heinrich Koch.
He is recorded on the 1834 Census of Katharinenstadt in Household No. 331 along with a note that he had died there in 1827.
