Jakob Müller, a craftsman (Handwerker), and his family settled in the Volga German colony of Mariental on 15 July 1766. His wife died and he remarried to Christina, the widow of Kaspar Riesch.
Jakob Müller and his family are recorded on the 1798 census of Mariental in Household No. Mt49.
They are recorded on the 1767 census of Mariental in Household No. 82. The 1767 census records that Jakob Müller came from the German village of Weilburg in the Nassau region.
There are no known surviving male lines of this Müller family among the Volga German colonies.
