Daniel Oberlieser, a farmer, his wife Anna Katharina, and children (Anna Maria, age 16; Johann Jakob, age 12) are recorded on the 1767 census of Mariental in Household No. 80. They had arrived in Mariental on 15 July 1766.

The 1767 census records that Daniel Oberlieser came from the German region of Medebach.

There are no known surviving male lines of this Oberleiser family among the Volga German colonies.
