Ludwig Hesser, a single farmer, and his siblings (Anna, age 21; Paul, age 19; Apollonia, age 18) arrived from Lübeck at the port of Oranienbaum on 18 June 1766 aboard the hooker Anna Catharina under the Skipper Adolph Scharpenberg.
Ludwig Hesser settled in the Volga German colony of Keller on 12 May 1767 and is recorded there on the 1767 census in Household No. 11.
Following the destruction of Keller, surviving members of the family resettled to the colony of Neu-Kolonie.
In 1794, Johann Adam Hesser moved from Neu-Kolonie to Mariental.
Adam Hesser from Keller is recorded on the 1798 census of Mariental in Household No. Mt45.
The death of Adam Hesser in 1828 is recorded on the 1834 census of Mariental in Household No. 13.
The widow and daughter of Johann Hesser are recorded on the 1798 census of Dehler in Household No. Dl27.
The 1767 census records that Ludwig Hesser came from the German village of Hattersheim in the Kurmainz region.
There are no known surviving male lines of this family among the Volga German colonies.
