Johann Lemerich [sic], a farmer, his wife Magdalena, and daughter Elisabeth (age 2½) arrived from Lübeck at the port of Oranienbaum on 31 May 1766 aboard a galliot named Die Vergoldete Weintraube (The Gilded Grape) under the command of Skipper Joachim Hermann Andersen.
They settled in the Volga German colony of Keller on 11 August 1767 and are recorded there on the 1767 census in Household No. 57 along with Michael Kastell (age 11).
The 1767 census does not record a relationship between the Kastell and Lemrich families.
The Oranienbaum passenger list records that Johann Lemerich [sic] came from the German region of the Pfalz. The 1767 census records that Johann Lemrich came from the German village of Sponsheim in the Kurpfalz region.
There are no known surviving male lines of this Lemrich family among the Volga German colonies.
